Mat Hummels at the age of 26 has lifted the World Cup trophy with Germany as he helped his country in securing the 2014 edition of the World Cup and his performances were so impressive that Hummels was named on the 10-man shortlist for FIFA’S Golden Ball award for the tournament’s best player.
This is evidence of just how much of an impact Hummels can make not only with his club Borussia Dortmund where he plays with as the captain.
The German defender is a winter transfer target of many top European clubs that wish to add the player into their respective teams and one of those is Manchester United as the Premier League club is eager on reinforcing their defensive structure by adding one of the best defenders in the world.
Fortunately for Manchester United, Hummels seems to not be going through a good time with Borussia Dortmund as the German club is currently located in the bottom spots of the Bundesliga and Hummels has already expressed his distaste towards the situation that Borussia is experiencing.
“We’ve managed pretty well at home in recent weeks, but not at all away. It’s pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic.” Mats Hummels told the media as the German defender revealed his discomfort towards the current situation of Borussia Dortmund.
Hummels stated that Borussia Dortmund is pathetic at the moment after having won the Bundesliga league title on successive years in 2011 and 2012. The German club has been experiencing such a huge change as they went from being claimed as the champions of Germany to now just fighting to avoid the bottom relegation zone.
There are a few players in Borussia Dortmund that aren’t happy with the club and making a move to another team is a real possibility, one of those players is Mats Hummels who has already revealed his discomfort and Manchester United is expected to capitalize on this by launching an enticing offer in order to sign the German defender during the January transfer window.
