What does the future of Bastian Schweinsteiger have in store?

Bastian Schweinsteiger continues to play an insignificant role in Manchester United which is what has been occurring ever since Jose Mourinho arrived to Old Trafford and now transfer rumors are beginning to emerge linking the experienced midfielder with a possible move away from the Premier League club.

The 32 year old German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has even been demoted to the Under-21’s team where he has been training with the academy team of Manchester United instead of the actual senior and main team.

It’s obvious that Jose Mourinho does not have Schweinsteiger in his plans and it’s because of this lack of playing time that the future of the German player is now being put into question.

Will the experienced midfielder continue settling to his trivial role in Manchester United or will he decide to make a move to another club where he can get consistent playing time?

It seems like there is a realistic chance that the 32 year old German player will be transferred in the near future to another club and his next football destination is rumored to be the MLS as Schweinsteiger was recently pictured with the manager of Chicago Fire, VeljkoPaunovic.

On numerous occasions, Schweinsteiger has stated that he wants to earn his position and prove his worth in Old Trafford but Jose Mourinho has never truly given the German player the chance to show what he is capable of doing. This is a player that has lifted the FIFA World Cup title with Germany and secures the Bundesliga title as well as the UEFA Champions League.

For a player that is so overwhelmingly successful, he does not really need to show what he is capable of accomplishing as Schweinsteiger has been doing it for the past few years but Jose Mourinho for some reason just doesn’t give him time on the first team and for a player that is 32 years old, his time would be better spent in a club where he can spend the last few years of his playing career in the actual pitch with the main team instead of the sidelines or with the youth squad which is what he is currently doing in Manchester United.

ROONEY EQUALS VAN NISTELROOY’S EUROPEAN RECORD

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has equaled the European goal record set by Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Rooney scored a consolation goal in the game against Fenerbahce as Man United continued their poor run. Jose Mourinho’s men lost 2-1 in an away game against the Turkish side in the Europa League on Thursday – November 3, 2016.

Rooney started the game in Istanbul after playing from the bench in the recent run of games. United had more of the possession during the affair but failed to do much with it. They rarely tested goalkeeper Volkan with their about 70% ball possession. They often allowed their hosts regain their defensive shape with their slow pace of football.
“Our problems started in our global attitude. They were playing the Champions League final, we were playing a summer friendly,” Mourinho aptly put it.

“They deserved to win, football is not just about quality, it is also about effort, commitments, playing the limits and giving everything. A team that concedes after two minutes is a team that is not ready, not mentally prepared, not focused, not concentrated,” the Portuguese tactician said, blasting the whole team’s effort after the game. Mourinho Set to Raid Real Madrid in January

Manchester United manager José Mourinho is reportedly set to raid his former club, Real Madrid, in January once the transfer window opens in a bid to improve his side who are falling off the pace in the Premier League following a poor start to their campaign.

United were held to a 0-0 draw against Burnley on Saturday afternoon, despite breaking the Premier League record for the number of shots on goal at 37. They have won just one of their last seven games in the league which means they are now eight points off the top of the standings.

The Reds have struggled for goals this season and it is thought Mourinho is keen to add some depth in the final third of the pitch and is set to bid for striker Karim Benzema. Zlatan Ibrahimović was brought into the club in the summer, however, the former Sweden international came in for some criticism following his performance against Burnley where he had 12 shots on goal without finding the back of the net.

Benzema could cost United up to £50 million, however, the Frenchman has a record of scoring goals on a consistent basis in the league and in Europe which would suggest the transfer fee would not put Mourinho off splashing the cash on the striker.

During the 2015/16 La Liga campaign, Benzema netted on 24 occasions, while he has scored 20 goals or more in all competitions in each of the last six seasons with the Spanish giants.

If United can reach a deal with Real and Benzema, it could lead to an exit for Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford. The England captain has not been a regular in Mourinho’s first XI this season. In order to free up some of his wage bill for Benzema, the United boss may need to find Rooney a new club before he can make the transfer happen.

Rooney has been linked with a return to Everton, the club United paid £25.6 million for back in 2004. A number of MLS and Chinese clubs are also thought to be monitoring the Englishman as they would also be interested in the striker if he were to become available this January.

Real Madrid have started their season well in Spain and have been one of the most popular football betting tips for La Liga where they can be backed at 7-4. Alvaro Morata has been in hot form in front of goal this season, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale continue their excellent goal-scoring records at the club so they may be content with letting go of Benzema early in 2017.

The Real Madrid forward is not the only Frenchman Mourinho could look to bid for in January. Raphael Varane is also being linked with a move to Old Trafford. Mourinho gave Varane the opportunity to break into the first team when he was manager at Real Madrid and is thought to still be a huge fan of the young central defender.

With injuries to a number of United’s back four early in the season, Mourinho will need to bring reinforcements in to the club when the window opens. Varane was linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, however, the asking price for the Frenchman was putting the Portuguese manager off a move for the player.

Varane missed Euro 2016 in the summer due to a thigh injury, however, he has returned to action this season and is now fully fit once again. He has featured on eight occasions so far in the campaign for Real who have a number of options in the heart of their back four.

If Mourinho was to successfully land the services of Benzema and Varane, it would be a huge boost to their chances of finishing in the top four at the end of the campaign.

José Mourinho Defends His Players amidst Poor Form

Jose Mourinho has rose to the defence of his players by saying that the current poor run of form will only make them stronger.

After managing to win the opening three games in the league, Manchester United went on to suffer three consecutive losses before finally bouncing back with a win over Northampton Town in the EFL Cup. A win against such lower league opposition is not necessarily a testament to the quality of the team, but it at least provides them with some confidence going into the weekend’s game against Leicester City.

Mourinho has had big spells of poor form in the last couple of years and there has been a suggestion that the Portuguese manager is starting to get found out with regard to his dated tactics. However, he managed to win the Premier League title not too long ago with Chelsea and there is every possibility that United may very well come back with vengeance this weekend. For the time being, though, Mourinho has had to defend his players due to the poor form. The Portuguese claimed that the poor form would make his players stronger.

José Mourinho says that midfielder Juan Mata was himself responsible for Chelsea Exit

José Mourinho says that midfielder Juan Mata was himself responsible for the exit from Chelsea a few years ago. Mata has found himself playing under Mourinho once again.

The duo could not share a working relationship when they were at Chelsea. The manager ended up having the bigger say and Mata left the club for £ 37 million for Manchester United. The Spaniard’s biggest complaint was that Mourinho demoted him from being a first-team regular into a bit part player for no reason since his performances were still excellent.

Mata may not have been adefault first choice at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal, but he seems to be happy at Old Trafford. Now that Mourinho has become the new manager at United, it remains to be seen if Mata will remain at the club or demand a transfer. Mourinho was invariably asked about the future of the Spaniard. He says that he has no problem with Mata and it was the Spaniard who insisted that he left Chelsea and due to the lack of first-team action. Once again, he confirmed that he will not have any player in the squad who is not willing to stay. This is seen as an indirect confirmation that he would be ready to sell Mata if the player once again wishes to move.

MANCHESTER UNITED SET TO SNAP POGBA THIS SUMMER

Manchester United are reported to be in talks with Juventus for the signature of youngster Paul Pogba this summer.

The player who used to be with the club left to become a star in Italy but the Red Devils chief executive Ed Woodward wants the player to return to Old Trafford. According to Sky Sports News HQ, Man United are ready to drop as much as £100 million to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Juventus would ordinarily want the player to remain at the club but such a huge offer would be very difficult to refuse. Sources say both clubs have begun talks already and if it actualizes the young player could receive as much as £300,000 in weekly wages. The 23-year old left the club back in 2012, after growing with the club’s academy but has gone on to make a name big for himself, wining the Serie A title for four consecutive years.

The player would not be easy to get as Real Madrid are also interested. The Spanish giant are a huge admirer of the player and want him to move to the Bernabeu. However, reports have it that the player only wants the talks to make real progress when the Euro 2016 concludes in France on Sunday. France play Portugal in the finals, after seeing off Germany in the semi finals on Thursday, July 7th. Continue reading “MANCHESTER UNITED SET TO SNAP POGBA THIS SUMMER”

Manchester United to sign Villareal defender Eric Bailly

There are media reports that Jose Mourinho had made his first signing for Manchester United by luring the Villareal defender to Old Trafford.

Many other clubs were interested in Eric Bailly, but the Red Devils have managed to snatch the player away from clubs such as Manchester City, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
