UNITED CHASE REUS

David Moyes is setting his eyes on Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus as he is a priority target for Manchester United in the January transfer window. The Premier League side has been going through problems in the midfield specifically in this season as their signing from Everton Marouane Fellaini is still struggling to adapt with Moyes in Manchester United.

Meanwhile their other midfielder Michael Carrick is finding his way out of the series of injuries that he has been enduring this season. Since David Moyes took charge of United as he is trying to follow the legacy of Sir. Alex Ferguson, Luis Nani has only made 6 starts for the English club as the Portuguese winger has not found a break into the starting lineup of the Scottish coach.
Due to his lack of appearances for Manchester United and the failure to make any kind of impact with the team he is being a target of clubs such as Juventus and Ac.Milan. Continue reading “UNITED CHASE REUS”

DIVING?

Manchester United’s Ashley Young has been criticised of diving in order to win penalties. Sir Alex Ferguson has been critical of this mentality of the former Aston Villa star. David Moyes was also of the same opinion after he took over at the club in the summer. He said after the first diving incident this season that he will be talking with Young about it. Young has not featured for United in the last few matches, but he was recalled to the starting line-up in the Champions league match against Real Sociedad.

The England international was back to his bad ways again after he took a stumble at slightest of contacts in order to win a penalty. Robin van Persie went on to miss the penalty after managing to strike the post. After the encounter, Moyes said that he will not speak with Young about this incident because he did not think that the England star took a dive. Moyes also said that he is disappointed with the fact that United could only draw the match 0-0, while they had numerous chances over the course of the match to score the breakthrough.

Apart from van Persie’s missed penalty, Hernandez also missed from 6 yards out after a cross from Shinji Kagawa.

“I have seen it again. The boy tugs him in the box. The referee is two yards away from it and decides to give it. He’s got a penalty kick for a decision tonight. I don’t know about his reputation but the referee is there and he gave it. The referee made decisions all night. He’s the one who saw fit to award a penalty and send a player off. I thought the referee made the decision and that was the referee’s choice,” said Moyes about the penalty incident.

WILKINS BACKS ROONEY

Former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins has said that striker Wayne Rooney should consider staying at Manchester United because he thinks that a move to Chelsea will be a step down in his career. Rooney has been at the top of English football for the last decade. He became one of the expensive teenagers in the world after making a £ 30 million move to Manchester United in 2004. He has since score close to 200 goals during these nine years and he remains only a handful of goals short of Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 246 goals.

Rooney was expected to travel with the team to play friendly matches in Sweden, but he has pulled out of the squad at the last moment citing an injury. This, however, is believed to be a suspicious move on the part of the player and club. United only recently rejected a second offer from Chelsea for the 27-year-old. This second offer is believed to have increased the offer to £ 30 million from £ 20 million. Rooney is ready to force his way out of Old Trafford if Manchester United do not sell him. The player has only two years left on his contract, and his value will plummet next summer.

“It shouldn’t end this way, it’s getting horrible. Once you leave Manchester United there’s only one way you’re going. Man United are in the top three biggest clubs on the planet, therefore they will always buy and buy and buy because they always want to be successful. If you want to win things then there’s no better club to be at than Manchester United. So what if you’ve got a bit of competition with Robin van Persie? It’s healthy,” said Wilkins, who has played for Chelsea and has also been an assistant manager at the club.
