Manchester United is one of the greatest names among the best cubs in the world of football. This English club has achieved lots of honors and has won lots of trophies since it has been founded. This club recruits the best players in the world and nurtures them to be the stars of the game. The latest feather in its crown has been added as the Queen has honored Marcus Rashford as a member of the Order of the British Empire. This is a special honor given to him on the occasion of the Queen’s Birthday. This proposal was approved by the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This is the award that someone gets for the extraordinary contribution to any field including sports too.

Though it is a personal honor to the Man UTD striker, it also has added a feather to the club’s crown. After the foundation of the club in 1878, there are very few players who have achieved this honor. The former name of this club was Newton Heath LYR F.C. But then in 1902, the club was renamed as Manchester United. Their home venue is Old Trafford and in the current season, they are in the third position of the English Premier League. The players of this club are called the Red Devils as the color of the home jersey is bright red.

Fernandes says Lingard deserved the goal against Leicester City

Bruno Fernandes offers support to his co-player, Jesse Lingard, as the player was facing an unfair amount of criticism. He was happy to see the player score against Leicester City on their last match of the Premier League. United needed the one point to secure their ticket to the Champions League and the outcome of the match turned out to be positive. Even though the first half was goalless, Fernandes with the penalty on 71st minute gave them the lead.

Marcotti urges Chelsea to avoid signing Manchester United graduate

ESPN pundit Gabriele Marcotti has advised Chelsea to avoid signing Angel Gomes from Manchester United this summer. The 19-year-old has declined to renew his United contract which expires at the end of June and reports have emerged that the Blues are leading the race to sign him on a free transfer.

Still, they may need to pay a decent compensation package for the training costs at United and Marcotti has questioned whether the Blues need the attacker, he told ESPN FC: “For Chelsea, you’ve got Hudson-Odoi, you’ve got Pulisic, you’ve got Ziyech. Do you need him? I don’t think so. Well done to United, stay strong, don’t give him any more money. Plus, if he leaves it won’t be for free, they’ll get some compensation for him. They’ll get some money.”

Reports: Some Man Utd games may not be free-to-air

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, all football leagues have been suspended indefinitely. There are plans to restart the Premier League so that the season could be completed, but this would mean that the end of the campaign would be postponed to August. This disrupts the TV schedule immensely and subscribers have been left in the limbo about the availability of games. After having paid for the subscription already, it appears that Sky Sports and BT Sports would not be providing extension to the packages. Instead, many Premier League games were expected to be shown as a free-to-air.

This, however, this not appear to be the case when it comes to games involving Manchester City and Manchester United. Some of the games involving these two clubs might be shown only with a subscription. Even if the Premier league returns to action by June as it is now suggested, the games are likely to be played behind closed doors in order to prevent spread of the virus. Sky and BT could have a huge resistance for this proposition after having paid several billion dollars for the TV rights. Both share a good chunk of the 760 live Premier League games in a year. It is expected that both television companies will demand around £1 billion back from the Premier League.
