In his post-match interview, Marcus Rashford disclosed how he capitalised on the fitness problems of Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri to score the winning goal of the match three minutes into added time. According to him, he noticed that Wolves left wing back Rayan Ait-Nouri was struggling to stay fit for the final minutes of the game and he made it his business to exploit the situation. Marcus Rashford got in behind Ait-Nouri from a Bruno Fernandes pass before unleashing a shot that deflected off Wolves centre back RomainSaiss and into the back of the net for the lone goal in the match.
Manchester United were far away from their fluent best against Wolves but the only goal of the game from Marcus Rashford was still enough to seal the three points for the home team. The Red Devils produced their best performance of the season in their last home game, a 6-2 thumping ofrivals Leeds United.
